Kev's guide to alcohol-free gift sets and bundles
Good questions
What do you buy someone who has stopped drinking?
Something that treats them like a grown-up. A gift set of properly good alcohol-free beer, a mocktail bundle or a case of after-dinner creams all say "come round, there's something in for you". Skip anything that turns their choice into a big topic. Balance looks different for everyone, and the best gift is one they'd have picked themselves. Our gifts for someone cutting down page has more ideas.
Is it OK to give alcohol-free drinks as a Christmas present?
Yes. People go alcohol free for all sorts of reasons: cutting down for a while, planning a dry January, or simply liking the taste. A good gift box isn't a hint, it's a treat. If you're worried it reads as a message, add a note that says "thought you'd like these" and leave the speeches to the King. More ideas in our alcohol-free Christmas gifts guide.
When should I order alcohol-free gifts for Christmas?
Earlier than you think. Orders ship in 2 to 3 working days with Royal Mail, and December post is never quick, so give yourself some slack. UK standard delivery is £5.95, and it's free to UK mainland addresses over £85. We're delivery only, so online orders can't be collected, but you're welcome to pop into the Otley taproom to taste before you buy.
Are your beer gift sets fully alcohol free?
Yes. In the UK, anything at 0.5% or under counts as alcohol free, and every beer in our gift sets is at or under that. 0.0% means no alcohol at all. We show the exact ABV on every drink. Jump Ship, for example, brew their beer to be under 0.5% rather than stripping the alcohol out. If your giftee wants strictly 0.0%, build a box from the zero range instead.
What's a good gift for a beer lover who's cutting down?
Match the box to their usual pint. Lager drinker? The mixed lager bundle has crisp pils, hoppy lagers and classic helles. Dark beer fan? The mixed stout bundle runs from rich and roasty to cherry and chocolate. Loyal to Yorkshire? The Yorkshire gift box also comes in cans. Everyone else, the Nirvana set gives a proper spread of styles.
